ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of multi-component intervention based on functionalbehavioral assessment on the attack behavior and alternative behaviors of Autism Spectrum disorderstudent. The research subjects are students who attend high school in a special school and who showattack behavior to their peers in the class. This study used multiple baseline design across settings, and itis based on the systematic functional behavioral assessment of the targeted students to understand thefunctions of problem behaviors and conducted multi-component interventions including antecedent andsetting events, alternative behavior instruction, consequences. As a result of the study, multi-componentintervention based on functional behavioral assessment decreased the incidence of attack behavior andincreased the incidence of alternative behaviors. In the maintenance period after intervention, the frequencyof attack behavior decreased and the frequency of alternative behavior increased. Based on the results ofthe study, we discussed the factors affecting the problem behaviors and alternative behaviors of studentswith autism spectrum disorder related to characteristics of the student, mediation, and previous studies.
